We just celebrated our 20th anniversary and had a great table overlooking the
river. The food was great. But the waitress spoiled us, and was very informative
 on the menu items and wine. She is great. We live in the area and will be back.
This is a true gem in the area.

I brought my friend to the Oar House for her birthday on Sept. 15. The service and
 the food were WONDERFUL..The Oar House has always been special and
 always will be!

Our daughter, Betty, and son-in-law, went to The Oar House the day of their
anniversary, after burying their premature baby. Leigh was so kind. She put red
roses on their table with one white rose. This was special and was such a comfort
to them. Thank you Leigh and Tim.

On a recent visit to Helen, GA, I made my way to Dahlonega todo some shopping.
I asked a local if they could recommend a good restaurant. He suggested
The Oar House. Well, that’s where I and my friend found ourselves stopping to eat
dinner. The staff and service were excellent. However, the food was…well,
OUTSTANDING !! I highly recommend that if anyone is any where close,
that you must make it a priority to stop and enjoy the succulent food at this quaint,
yet romantic establishment. My recommendations are, if available at the time,
to start off with the stuffed dates that will just melt in your mouth.
The Bourbon Pork Chop is delicious, and end with the either the White Chocolate
Pecan Pie or Chocolate Chocolate Chip Rum Cake. There is nothing but warmth
and comfort when dining at The Oar House.

I have to say that The Oar House is one of my absolute favorite local restaurants. We brought up a group of about 35 people from Gainesville for dinner back in the spring and the food was wonderful, the service great, and the price was right. A couple of us came up for lunch a few weeks prior to the group dinner so we could talk with Leanne, the chef, and she was more than gracious in helping us decide on a menu for a crowd. We left knowing that when we all came back for the dinner everything would be perfect…and it was! Our group was seated in the same area together so we could talk and enjoy the food and the fellowship, and even though there was another very large group and several smaller ones there at the same time, you would have thought our group was the only one there because the wait staff was right there to attend to everything our group needed. We never had to sit and just wait for someone! to bring us something. Thanks for a great evening and we will be back, not only as a group but individually!

Thank you Oar House for hosting our Class of 2000 10 year reunion. The food was amazing as always. We really enjoyed the servers and the atmosphere. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening (other that the drizzly weather).

My husband, Scott travels a lot and ordered the prime rib. He says he has eaten a lot of prime rib in a lot of places and this is the best he has had. See you soon!!!

I just want everyone to know that this is the very BEST place in GA to eat!!! I found the Oar House as several of us were kayaking on the Chestatee River. As we paddled by we thought it was such a neat place so when we got out we drove back there for dinner. Very pleased with that decision!!!! Food was GREAT and the Service was OUTSTANDING!!!
